Alejandro Agag says he did not give up seeing Alonso in the Formula E

Formula One CEO Alejandro Agag said Spain’s Fernando Alonso expressed interest in the category but that a possible arrival of the two-time F1 world champion will only be possible from 2020.
The strong man of Formula E, Alejandro Agag, again mentioned about the possibility of the category having on the starting grid the presence of Spaniard Fernando Alonso. This time, the boss of the electric car world confirmed in an interview with the South China Morning Post that he is in contact with the double world champion.
“I’ve been talking to Fernando. In fact, I was with him in Monza, I think he’s going to America (IndyCar Series) this season, but we’ll definitely go after him next season, “said Agag.
For the driver of the electric car category, the fact that Formula E has a new car (the Gen2, which will debut next season), aroused the curiosity of the Spanish driver.
“I talk a lot with Fernando, he likes F1. He’s very focused on the car. He is very curious about the new car that we are going to debut in the fifth season. He wants to know more about Gen2 and thinks it’s cool. ”
Fernando Alonso has already announced that he will race in Formula Indy in 2019. The Spanish driver aims to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport (to win the three most traditional races of the modality: the Monaco Grand Prix, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Indy 500), and only American evidence lacks.
The 2018-19 season of Formula E will begin on December 15 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
