Andretti and Dragon Racing teams are considering changing their operating facilities before the next Formula One season.
Teams evaluate changes from their current headquarters in Donington Park to new offices within the UK – probably within the “motorsport valley” – in Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire.
Mike Gascoyne – former Formula 1 designer – and his company MGI Consultancy are working on Dragon’s powertrain for next season. Gascoyne has his company in Kelmscott, about 20 miles west of Oxford, and on the edge of the “motorsport valley”. This factor could influence the choice of the new headquarters.
Andretti – who will support BMW’s factory program – is also looking for offices in the UK. It will therefore be essential that the German manufacturer’s work team, with the responsibility of operating the program, provides significant engineering support.
Andretti and Dragon are not the only teams studying changes in their bases. Panasonic Jaguar Racing has settled at the Grove Advanced Engineering factory in Grove for the past week.
