How can I get the cheapest rate on a car rental for 1 week plus 2 extra days?

Posted on January 5th, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 4 Comments »

I will be traveling to Manchester, NH on July 12 arriving around 11pm and leaving July 21 in the afternoon. How can I get the cheapest rate? Who offers the best deals? Do you know where I can get some good coupons. I really don’t want to spend over $300 for car rental. The airfare is bad enough.

There is a great selection of car rental coupon codes at http://www.couponheaven.com/subcategory.cfm/103

I see coupons for Avis and Thrifty (which have already been mentioned in other answers), as well as Budget, Enterprise and Dollar.

One way to compare prices is to go to a travel consolidator to get a quote. Try http://www.orbitz.com/ – you will be able to see which company has the lowest pre-coupon rate available. Then, check out a coupon site and go for the bargain!

I love booking car rentals this way! There is generally extra charge to make the reservation, and no cancellation fee (if your plans happen to change).

Where is the Cheapest Car Rental in Los Angeles?

Posted on January 5th, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 3 Comments »

Hi, we are looking for an econo box car for a one weeks rental. Preferably for pick up at LAX or close by. Can someone recommend a really good priced rental depot? Thanks folks, much appreciated!

Fox Rent a Car on Century boulevard (the road leading directly to LAX).

Century Blvd is chock-a-block full of Car Rental Companies (hotels and eating establishments).
Fox has a shuttle bus leaving continually from LAX to their site.
(As do all the major companies)
Just walk out the airport door!
Here is their website:
https://www.foxrentacar.com/browseRates.aspx?SID=e419c0d6-e7aa-43e7-a068-dfc9927e7484

Compare the prices to other companies – you’ll find Fox the most reasonable.
Hertz is one of the most expensive around. ):

Can any of you recommend a car rental company in Philadelphia?

Posted on January 5th, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 2 Comments »

I am going to Philly in September and will be looking to rent a car . Would it be possible for you good folks to recommend a good reasonable rental company to me so when I arrive i will be set . i am also interested in renting one of those old gas guzzlers that are seen in old films any ideas please ?

As to the normal rental agencies, I can recommend you do what my wife does when she is flying to Philly. She enters into Priceline and makes a bid on a car.

Before she actually does this, she goes to a major on-line company like Travelocity and sees what price they can give her on a car. Once she knows what the low price is she goes to Priceline and makes an offer even lower by several dollars per day. She usually finds a mid-size for about 14 dollars per day. Her tip is to bid low, as you can always increase your offer. It just seems to take a few hours sometimes.

I hope this helps.

What website offers the best flight, hotel and car rental rates?

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 6 Comments »

I would like to go visit my husband who is in the army. I need a good website to book my flight, hotel and car rental through. Any suggestions?

I found the best to be http://www.sidestep.com/ they check all the other websites for the best prices and they don’t charge a penny to book. The price they show includes any booking fees the other sites might charge. Best around.

What is an effective way to challenge bogus car rental charges/fees/blatant rip offs?

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 1 Comment »

My girlfriend and I rented from National Car Rental during our vacation. The customer service was horrendous, the vehicles dirty and the trumped up charges ridiculous. We spent an excess of $400 after the fact, just because they already had the credit card and could, I guess, do anything they wanted. There is a multitude of complaints on the web. People with similar experiences. Before I waste my time trying to get any adjustment……has anyone actually had luck fighting with these crooks?

Contact your credit card company that you charged the car to. File a complaint of fraudulant charges against them…. also file with the BBB. I never had that problem but I never rented from them. Good luck .. hope you get your money back.

Does anyone know if the Enterprise Car Rental 12 dollar insurance covers a car that i Hit?

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 3 Comments »

My sister rented a car from Enterprise Car Rental in Long Beach, Ca.
She got the 12 dollar day insurance just in case something happened. Today my sister said she was backing up and in the rental car and scratched the car that was next to her and also the car she rented. Does any one know if the 12 dollar insurance she got covers the other car and not just the rental?

no – you just got the accident wavier insurance – that means they will not pursue you for damage to the rental (if your sister was signed on the contract as an allowed driver) the accident insurance to cover you for liability (the damage to someone elses car or property) costs more. PLEASE feel free to email me for any advise or questions you need answered.

Are there any California car rental companies that would let an 18 year old drive a rental car?

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by admin in car rental australia | 2 Comments »

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew of a California company that would allow an 18 year old to drive a rental car. I will have my dad sign for it who’s obviously over 25, but I’ve done research and have become stumped. Unless I’ve missed something, I have to be at least 21 even if someone else signed. Another thing… I need to be able to pick it up in California and drop it off in North Carolina. Anybody have a suggestion?

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A RENTAL FOR MY DAUGHTER TOO. I FOUND A RENTAL COMPANY E-Z CAR RENTALS THAT MIGHT BE THE ONE FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK.
