Planes Trains And Automobiles Car Rental Scene Plus Taxi Aftermath Scene Re_renactments

Well what originally started out as simply one re-enactment actually became two in one video. Here is my re-enactment of two classic scenes from the film Planes, Trains And Automobiles. After filming the first re-enactment I originally uploaded it up on here. However afterwards I decided to re-enactment the follow up scene which is directly after the Car Rental scene from the movie.

Out of all the re-enactments I have done so far, I feel this is my best and favourite. Simply cause of the location shooting and 95% solo effect I have had to put into the production of both re-enactments.

With all re-enactments I feel it’s important to give your best, trying to mimic the original scene but at the same time adding your own style and elements to the scenes.

Thanks must be first given to Jon at Heartbeat Gym who was kind enough to let me film the Car Rental desk scene in the gym. I was very pushed for time as it was near closing time so I feel maybe the Steve Martin character could have been better performed with a little more time, but I’m still happy with the result.

Secondly I have to thank my father for the time and patience in driving me around and helping me partly with the camera work.

A little trivia for you with regards to the creation of these re-enactments. The beginning shot which shows me crossing a car park near the runaway of an airport, was in fact originally a backdrop of a road and houses. I had to remove the background and add a still shot with an animation of a still image of a plane moving across the screen.

There is a couple of masking shots in the re-enactments noticibly the shots where there is more than one of me in one shot. The shot with me laying on the floor with the car stopping right next to me for example. It was actually two shots filmed seperately then put together, the shot would have been to risky to film as one shot.

Sadly Prison I had very limited time so I was unable to do more and alternate takes on the car rental scene. Both parts were performed in about 15-20 minutes. I had two takes of the Steve Martin part however given that I had more time I may have had a different take on the final scene. I try re-enacting a scene from a film with the best of the materials I have got, but I like to add my own bit of the take as well. :D

Now that was brilliant. Much better than your first video I have to say. But, it does have a downside, and that being is, you missed a few words out, yet again, but otherwise great job, I liked it & I’m sure many others will when they see this. Very proffesinal editing.

Also, thank god to those who helped you this time. I think without them, you wouldn’t have done it so perfectly.
