My parked car was totalled by an another driver who has admitted fault. How much rental car time do they owe?

The insurance co stated that they only owe 1 week’s worth of car rental. The final settlement has not yet been reached and the ins co is looking over figures (autotrader ads, etc) I have submitted to them. They have advanced a "partial settlement" and the adjuster said that they do not owe anymore than 1 week’s worth of car rental bc they advanced the partial settlement check. I am in northern California. What are my rights? Thanks.

not sure of the legalities of cali. but keep in mind insurance adjusters get bonuses for keeping cost down. my sister put her foot down ( better than i ever would) and got everything she needed while her car was being fixed. it’s all about staying on them don’t give in.

Check with the Office of Attorney General in California. They can advise you of your rights, and probably tell you how to enforce them.

They advance the settlement check so you cuold get your car back in running order and not need a rental car. If you can prove it will take longer to get your car fixed in drivable condition maybe the insurance co will allow more in the total settlement.
