Usually there is no limit on miles you can drive, but it is better to call the rental company and ask them.

what company? Enterprise, Budget car rental have no limit on miles

Depends on the company you're renting from, but most major rental companies do not charge for mileage. Just bring it back with a full tank of gas.

I used to work for Enterprise (very recently). As long as you aren't renting a cargo van, you get unlimited miles as long as you stay within the area (usually surrounding states). Other car companies charge you per mile. If you need to go across many states, Alamo or National would be a better choice, but I'm not sure about their mileage policies.

Some companies give you a half-tank at a charge of $10 to $15 and tell you to return the car empty; others fill the tank and charge for the amount of gas you use. Companies that do not charge for the initial tank may ask you to return the car with a full tank. If you don’t, you’ll be charged the rental company’s price for gasoline. It’s often much higher than a local station.

Call THEM and ask them. I don't believe Enterprise puts a milage limit on a rental, but get it straight from THEM.
