I went to Orlando last year with my whole family, my father was going to drive and then changed his mind. When we picked the car up I showed them my driving license and passport and had no problems. You will both need your driving licence (both parts) and your passports for identification plus all the documents you have been sent to take along. With Virgin you will be required to pay for the insurance for the car hire, this can work out more expensive than hiring a car from the UK. The price you pay from a separate company will include the insurance. They normally offer two grades of insurance I always go for the Gold insurance which includes a tank of petrol ( this means you return the car empty) and extra drivers. I know lots of people that have booked fly drive with Virgin but did not take up the car hire part. Check out http://www.homefromhomeflorida.com/carhire for some good rates.
