Can anyone recommend somewhere to book car hire in Orlando?
Hi I am travelling to Orlando for New Year.
Everywhere I have looked the car hire is so expensive but I have been told it is really cheap.
Can anyone recommend any sites that have good value? Please and thanks ![]()
There are 6 of us going, and we are looking to hire 2 cars instead of one big one, so we will need a car big enough to hold 3 suitcases each
Car hire suddenly got more expensive last year when the pound crashed against the dollar. You used to be able to get a basic car for about £89 a week but this has now gone up to about £120. When the exchange rate improved a bit they didn’t drop their prices (now where have I heard that before …)
Plus car hire firms worldwide a feeling the pinch so they have put their prices up.
Check out some car trawler websites like Auto Europe or carrentals.
If there are only 2 of you (or you plus 2 small kids) you really only need to book the basic economy car. You won’t get a car as small as they say you will – the smallest will be like a Hyundai Accent size and you can easily fit 2 cases in the boot. That should keep the cost down a bit.

You’re going to pay extra because you’re coming during the holiday season. Sometimes it is much cheaper especially during the slow season. Try National, EZ and Enterprise.
Good luck.

Hi
When ever i go to Florida i always go into Sanford but i book my car thru Holiday autos.com at the prices are always very competitive and all insurances are included. i always ask for Alamo and always book the cheapest car on there books.
When you get off the plane you go to there desk and they try to get you to upgrade, Have a sat nav , or take out extra insurance which you say no too. When you have done the paperwork you go outside to the man getting the car and give him a tip of about $20 and he will bring you an upgraded rolls Royce if need be to suit your needs. He has the authority to do this just in case they run out of a particular category
Have fun
